Microsoft and the Cloud
Microsoft chief Ballmer told the channel to get with the program in his speech at the Worldwide Partner Conference. The program being software-as-a-service, that is, or as Microsoft spins it, "Software Plus Services".
Channel partners don't like it, but people--even techies--are inherently resistant to change. And Ballmer didn't help that sentiment when he suggested that some businesses channel partners are in today will disappear within the next ten years. A frightening suggestion, but when you consider the IT business in general, what does stay the same for ten years? Not much.
